an edge.
supposedly it’s good to have one
but what if that edge has you.
what then.
it is there, lurking in the background. waiting.
waiting. for the right time.
it is the waiting that kills you. that swells deep inside.
gnawing away at your liver. becoming bloated.
gluttonous. never full.
and so, no matter the happiness. no matter the smile.
it is gnawing deep. you feel it, you ignore.
accepting is realising, realising acts, ignoring is suicide.
and accepting would be too.
so paralysed by inability, you work to make things better.
knowing you never will.
because you have an edge, and that edge has you.
