It isn’t easy. Life. It is worth living, for the most part. But no one said it was going to be easy.
Don’t let the bastards grind you down, that’s what they say. That’s easy to say, and if you know who the bastards are it might be easy to do. But when the bastards are engrained in the system, the very fabric of society, and who and what it is, then it is a lot easier said than done.
Things are never as simple as they would like you to think. The world is complex and the interconnections are a vast matrix that is impossible to unweave. So, cause and effect might be real, but getting to the root of the exact cause and knowing the exact effect, is almost impossible.
It is easy to point to this or that or the other in a seeking for simple explanations, but it loses the nuance of why something is the way it is.
Maybe that is worth thinking about but before telling someone to pull up their bootstraps or giving the semiprecious bullshit advice you read on an Instagram post maybe take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror, is your life that simple.
