this is what we get, and we forget. we put it there
or at least we allowed it to happen. we never questioned the result.
we never questioned the questions that got us there.
or maybe we did, and we left the gaslight on.
who knows anymore? the only truth is in fiction.
and there lies the rub. because truth follows fiction, and fiction exposes truth.
and so, what are we left with, but our own projection?
and it is what we created. did we manifest wisely?
or just carefully back out of the parking lot.
prophecies that self-fulfill are perpetual daydreams.
of tomorrow that never comes. and is here before it’s forgotten.
this is what we get. we need to lie in it and think about what we’ve done.
we need to slowly stew in a pot of self-loathing. to realise what we have become.
and recognise the part we played in it. even if we are guilty of nothing.
