Social media group says Trump associate is connected to network that included fake accounts Another sign of the times and how we need to fine tune our sense making abilities of critical analysis: Facebook takes down disinformation campaign linked to Roger Stone. Disinformation for hire ! If you have the $ there are companies and individuals out there who will create and post hundreds, if not thousands, of false information or disinformation from fake social media accounts. And all of this can be automated so even one individual could manage multiple accounts with ease. It’s great Facebook has finally done something but this will only slow the people behind this not stop them. Already hundreds of new accounts will have popped up. https://www.facebook.com/103626624451616/posts/181847393296205/

Conservative sites like Newsmax and Washington Examiner have published Middle East hot takes from “experts” who are actually fake personas pushing propaganda. Conservative sites like Newsmax and Washington Examiner have published Middle East hot takes from “experts” who are actually fake personas pushing propaganda. All you need is time and dedication to get this kind of shit going. Now I am not looking to incite anyone to do any mischief but if I was furloughed right now, or found myself with time on my hands I might be inclined to take part in some digital disruption! https://www.facebook.com/103626624451616/posts/181486609998950/

***UPDATE*** A number of our readers have pointed out that Wetherspoons staff are asking people NOT to boycott the chain as they feel that such a stance would only hurt the workers and not Tim Martin himself. We understand where these comments come from and have posted a link to an article on this viewpoint so you may make your own minds up on the situation. Our admins and editors have collectively decided that we won’t be spending another pound in Wetherspoons and would much rather we spent our money in a different pub where the staff are treated with respect and common decency, rather than perpetuate that man’s business. https://thetab.com/uk/2020/06/24/boycotting-spoons-is-actually-the-opposite-of-helpful-sincerely-spoons-staff-162959 It’s worth remembering how certain businesses behaved during this crisis. I didn’t know that Whetherspoons did this, sacked all their staff at the start of the pandemic and told them to get jobs elsewhere, it’s disgusting and I for one will be boycotting! https://www.facebook.com/103626624451616/posts/178699283611016/

After hoping for a major re-introduction to the campaign trail, the president was reportedly raging over an 'underwhelming' turnout at his Tulsa rally Trump furious at rally turnout 😂This is brilliant and a great example of political activism using social media from the younger (mainly) generation. Just think what people could do if we all put our minds to it. https://www.facebook.com/103626624451616/posts/177260850421526/

The London Economic | The conflict between economic realism and political delusion continues to be unresolved- despite mounting evidence | Politics “The enormous economic impact of the Coronavirus is now being shown in jaw dropping hard data. The UK economy has shrunk by 20.4 per cent in April – the largest monthly contraction ever recorded. This is ten times worse than anything recorded during the 2008-2009 financial crash and four times worse than The Great Depression of 1931.” https://www.facebook.com/103626624451616/posts/176177687196509/

If we really shouldn’t lie about our history, as the prime minister says, let’s finally open up about the atrocities of empire, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot Boris, the man famed for lying about history, amongst so many other lies, says we shouldn’t erase our past. But that has been exactly what the British government has been doing for years. Hiding our own atrocities because “If we are going to sin, we must sin quietly” https://www.facebook.com/103626624451616/posts/175853373895607/

"Bye-bye Tucker Carlson!" T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert tweeted earlier this week in response to consumers who criticized the advertisers on Carlson's show. When politicians try to tell you that protesting, activism and petitions don’t make any difference, it’s because they fear them. Because they know they do and that real change can happen when people unit around a common cause. Ignore the mass media bullshit hype around the BLM protests and see them as a positive force for change and an inspiration for what can be done. So much has changed already and yet there is so much to do. Don’t listen to the naysayers and keep going, change is happening. #BLM https://www.facebook.com/103626624451616/posts/174800337334244/

Yesterday, Popular Information reported on several major companies that publicly supported the Black Lives Matter movement but still advertised on Tucker Carlson's show on Fox News. Carlson, who has a long history of using white nationalists rhetoric, had recently attacked and denigrated the Black Lives Matter movement...

This is, of course, great news, however, the recent racist rants of Tucker Carlson are a mere drop in the ocean of the ridiculous and hideous bile this man spreads. Why has it taken until now, during the moment of reckoning for them to pull the plug? https://www.facebook.com/103626624451616/posts/174311704049774/
